Watching Labyrinth (1986) and remembering how much of the freaky Henson design would later make it into Farscape (1999)
@xabean Yeah! I was watching it on youtube a bit obsessively over the summer
@SynAck I just did this a few weeks ago, myself.
Actually kinda glad I had a noon appointment, since I was instructed to start part two of the ritual cleansing 5 hours before the arrival. I wanted to have a full night's sleep and not have to get up at o-dark-thirty to start the festivities
@SynAck I chugged an incredible amount of chicken broth and ginger ale while sucking down lime jello. Also napped a lot. But yeah, overall, would not recommend recreationaly
Shower thought: Technically speaking, isn't petroleum an ancient solar energy storage mechanism?
It just took millions of years to go from radiation striking the planet, working its way through plant matter and geological processes, eventually becoming toxic yet energetic sludge.
If so, then we should be working to make that process more efficient to get more energy, faster, directly from solar radiation. Skip the middleman
@randomgeek I haven't seen that kind of foresight and planning in a long time
Well, this was a fun bug in Knex with SQLite that I just found: Dropping a column results in all the triggers for a table also being silently dropped.
That's because they're doing that old classic thing you used to have to do with SQLite to make almost any change - i.e. create a new table with new schema, copy old table to new, delete the old table, rename the new table.
But, if you do that, you lose everything associated with the table unless you recreate it all too. They did that for indexes, but not triggers
I keep getting tempted to drop straight down to bare SQLite driver in this project - because I keep running into cases where I'm using SQLite features that apparently library authors don't expect me to use :sadness:
I mean, granted, it was only just last year that I learned SQLite could do triggers, full-text search, and virtual columns based on json_extract() - but hey 🤷♂️
@aud As I am currently at this moment listening to Metric, I've also long thought this and just maybe thought I was weird 😅
@aud Yeah, I'd be annoyed. But maybe they get nice royalties from it and they're like 🤷♂️ , but then I doubt it works that way heh
For the hell of it, I gave the AI DJ a try on Spotify today. It played me some Metric and then followed up with Easy-E. That... was a bit of a change-up
a downside of voting from home is I didn't get a cool sticker. maybe I can mint my own NFT
There are few things like #webdev for making you repeatedly doubt your grip on objective reality
